The decade from 2016 to 2025 was 0.51°C warmer than 1991–2020 and 1.33°C warmer than 1961–1990. Temperature extremes are also becoming more frequent and more intense. In Greater London, the number of days above 30°C and nights remaining above 18°C more than quadrupled in 2016–2025 compared with 1961–1990. Across an area extending from Kent to Lincolnshire, the average hottest day of the year has warmed by more than 4.5°C.

The particles can act within the air and reach certain pollutants on hard surfaces, fabrics and soft furnishings.

This creates an additional air-quality benefit while you live, work and sleep in your home.

The nanoe™ X function can operate alongside heating or cooling, and it can also run independently when temperature control is not needed. Panasonic says it can continue working when the home is unoccupied, helping to deodorise and inhibit certain pollutants before you return. The technology is also used as part of an internal cleaning function that helps inhibit certain bacteria, viruses and mould on components within the indoor unit.

The Etherea system has also been designed around the way people use their homes today.

Built-in Wi-Fi allows compatible systems to be managed through Panasonic’s Comfort Cloud app. From a smartphone, homeowners can access system functions and adjust the temperature remotely. The system is also compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa, subject to service availability and setup.

That could mean cooling the living room before arriving home, adjusting a bedroom without leaving the bed or checking the system while away.

It is comfort that fits around your routine rather than asking you to change it.

Although cooling is the most obvious benefit during the summer, the Etherea range can also provide heating.
